USING NETZOOM VISIO ADD-IN WITH NETZOOM

Who Needs the NetZoom Visio Add-in?

The NetZoom Visio Add-in is a free, optional application for NetZoom users to be used in conjunction with Microsoft Visio Professional to auto-generate Visio diagrams and rack elevations. It is not required component to use NetZoom. No preliminary knowledge is required to use the NetZoom Visio Add-in.

To use NetZoom Visio Add-in with the NetZoom installation, each user must have login credentials for the NetZoom installation, the server URL to access the NetZoom installation and be authorized for Visio Diagramming in NetZoom (Administration/Settings/Enterprise Settings/Visio Diagramming).

 

What can you do with the NetZoom Visio Add-in?

The NetZoom Visio Add-in allows users to:

• Auto-generate Visio diagrams from NetZoom data center and inventory
• Use configured models and smart builds in Visio diagrams
• Create excel files from Visio diagrams to import into NetZoom

 

The NetZoom Visio Add-in can be launched as an application from the desktop or Start Menu OR launched in integrated mode from within Microsoft Visio.

 

What happened to the ActiveX?

Because modern browsers no longer support ActiveX technology, NetZoom no longer uses an ActiveX control for Visio diagramming. The same functionality is now offered in the NetZoom Visio Add-in.
